On August 22, 2006, my 3-year-old son was diagnosed with
leukemia. Since that time, he has undergone numerous spinal
taps and bone marrow biopsies and several rounds of
chemotherapy. Thankfully, he is in remission and doing
well. During his treatment, our lives have been made a little
easier by a group known as Friends of Kids With Cancer. While
there are other groups out there that grant once in a lifetime
wishes to children, this group focuses on helping these kids in
their daily lives as they face treatments for their illness.
